Am I eligible for Naturalisation?

You can apply for British Nationality or Naturalisation under the British Nationality Act 1981. As a British citizen, you can live and work in the UK free from immigration controls.

Applications for British Citizenship can be made by individuals who are married to a British citizen, or by individuals who meet certain criteria for naturalisation.

Criteria for Naturalisation

There is a number if criteria which must be satisfied in full before your application to be approved, in brief:

The application form is fairly straightforward but the information provided must be accurate and true or the application is delayed or worse refused and in some cases action taken if UKVI alleges you have made a false statement or submitted a fake document.

Once approved, you receive an invitation to attend a Citizenship ceremony which is usually local to where you live and at the ceremony you receive your Certificate of Naturalisation.

Thereafter you are free to apply for a British passport which is usually processed within approximately six weeks.

Our Fees

Our charges will be based on the time actually spent by the solicitors and other staff in respect of any work which they do on your behalf.

Our current hourly rates are set out below:

The work we carry out on your immigration case can take several hours, therefore we understand some clients prefer fixed fee costs.  We will provide you with a fixed fee of £ 250 + VAT at the initial consultation (if you prefer this option).

If you wish to proceed with hourly rate fees you can expect on average to pay the following dependant on the fee-earners hourly rate.

How long does a visa application take?

We will normally be able to submit your application within 4 – 8 weeks of you instructing us, but we will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this.

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application.  Read the current processing times.
