Alessandro Napolitano is a Supreme Court-qualified attorney admitted to the Rome Bar, with extensive experience in banking law, insurance law, and corporate restructuring and insolvency. He advises financial institutions, corporates, and public entities on complex legal, regulatory, and litigation matters.

With a distinguished career spanning both private practice and senior in-house roles, Alessandro has developed deep expertise in banking regulation, export credit frameworks, State aid, and high-value corporate litigation. He combines technical legal excellence with strong strategic insight, particularly in crisis management and restructuring scenarios.

Alessandro began his career in the banking sector before joining Hogan Lovells as a Senior Banking Associate, advising leading international banking groups on M&A transactions, regulatory compliance, data protection, and anti-money laundering matters. He later transitioned into senior executive roles, including General Counsel of SIC Società Italiana Cauzioni S.p.A. and senior leadership positions at SACE S.p.A., the Italian export credit agency.

At SACE, he played a key role in managing corporate and sovereign litigation, restructuring major financial exposures, and supporting the Italian economy through critical legal frameworks, including the “Garanzia Italia” scheme during the COVID-19 period.

In addition to his legal practice, Alessandro is actively engaged in academia and thought leadership. He serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member at LUISS Business School and lectures in advanced business law programmes. He is also a published author in banking and corporate law.
