Oracle Law Global: A Major Legal Victory in International Trade Dispute by China Business Department
Have you got a question?
Oracle Law Global’s China Business Department has achieved a significant legal achievement, successfully representing a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer—listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange—in a high-stakes international trade dispute. This victory, secured in February 2025 at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, upholds a favourable judgement previously secured at the District Court of Amsterdam in October 2023.
The dispute revolved around our client’s distribution channels and exclusive rights across Europe, raising critical competition law issues that threatened their market position. The successful appeal has not only reinforced our client’s standing in the European market but also protected their long-term business operations in the region.
As the General Counsel for the client’s international business in the global market, this case is part of our services in supporting the client’s expansion and development in the European market. The success was achieved through meticulous preparation of the defence documents, thorough evidence gathering, precise case analysis and intense courtroom debate. Led by our Head of China Business and Head of Energy Group, Ning Zhou, in collaboration with our Dutch colleagues, the team played a pivotal role in leading the litigation process, ensuring the client’s complete victory.
We extend our congratulations to Ning Zhou for his exceptional leadership and commitment throughout the entire litigation process. This victory further highlights Oracle Law Global’s ability to support clients in complex international legal matters, strengthening their business in key global markets.
